Announcing Winter 2017 Agenda for Plotters Ink

After the successful completion of a year focused on developing fictional characters*, we will return to writing fiction in various genres starting in March, 2017

Group facilitator CJ Alexander will be on sabbatical on January 12 and February 9, but she and Library Director April Bliss have arranged to fill those two Plotters Ink time slots (from 1-3 PM) with writing workshops open to any and all writers.

These two workshop events will be co-hosted by new library staff members Julia Heller and Nathan Copperwheat. They are currently brainstorming ideas and they welcome your suggestions, either in the comment section below, or in an email to whitesborowriters@gmail.com.

Better yet, if you get a chance, stop by and tell them in person!

Welcome, Julia and Nathan - we hope you'll enjoy working with our dedicated group of aspiring writers.

Everyone else - here's a brief introduction to our new members, as written in their own words.

Julia Heller came from San Francisco to Whitesboro by way of Appleton, Wisconsin, where she received a Bachelors in English (focus: Creative Nonfiction) from Lawrence University. More recently, she completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults through Vermont College of Fine Arts. Julia is an avid reader and movie-goer and enjoys analyzing all types of literature, art, and music as the building blocks that shape society. Julia considers stories to be “the way that we turn humans into people.” She lives in Whitesboro with two roommates, one dog, and not nearly enough bookshelves.

Nathan Copperwheat is a current undergraduate student at Bennington College in Bennington, Vermont.  He studies philosophy and literature with an emphasis on poetry, as well as some history— anything that involves copious amounts of reading.  He has been writing creatively since the first grade, though he likes to think his work has advanced a lot since then.  He currently serves on the Selection Committee for his college's literary magazine, SILO, to which he also regularly contributes.  He enjoys reading anything his writing peers create, and helping them revise and edit their work.  He also loves Star Wars and cats.

As always, keep writing!
