February 2017 Plotters Ink Workshop Agenda

The second writers workshop of the year will be held on Thursday, February 9 from 1-3 PM in the library board room.

Julia Heller and Nathan Copperwheat will lead us in another 2 part session. In advance of the meeting, please prepare the following:

Pick a classic fairy tale and in about 300 words, tell it your own way. For example, the story of Snow White told by one of the dwarves, or written to be about the queen instead of Snow White. You do not need to tell the entire story! You also do not need to start at the beginning.

Ideas for fairytales: Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, The Little Mermaid.

Be sure to make copies so everyone can follow along as you read your piece.

During this session, we will also take some time to do a short generative exercise, so please bring some paper or a notebook, and something to write with!

If you have any questions, inquire with either Nathan or Julia at the library at 736-9734.
