June 2015 Calendar of Writing-Related Events

The following is a list of free writing related events open to anyone who wishes to attend. Unless otherwise noted, each event takes place at the Dunham Public Library on Main Street in Whitesboro.

June 1- 6:30 PM  at the New Hartford library, Mr. Black will present a photo-lecture on his ancient civilization research. Free and open to the public.

June 6 - 2:30 PM - Join local author Connie Watkins as she reads A Duck Named Eddie, the sixth book she has written and illustrated for children. A Duck Named Eddie is an adventurous story about two young girls that loved attending their hometown State Fair.  You will enjoy reading about all the fun they experienced on that special day! After the story, Connie will lead everyone in a craft project related to the book. All ages, drop in.

June 16 - 4 PM - Author Visit - Mariah Leal  talks about socializing and training puppies in the first portion of the program and then demonstrates the behaviors with the assistance of her dog Piper, a Bull Mastiff.  Each child in attendance will receive a free copy of the first book in her series about Piper. June 16 - 6 PM - NEW: Learn to Blog program, presented by your blog editor Carol Alexander. This is a hands-on guide to setting up a personal blog on Google Blogger. June 20 - 3:30 PM - Dunham Library Theater Group led by Lorraine Kreimeyer. For more information, all the library at 736-9734.


June 22 - 6 PM - Dunham Public Library Monday Writers Group.   The writing prompt is "FOOTSTEPS".  Writers should compose up to 400 words of "creative prose" on that topic, to be read aloud to the group.
