Another published author joins our growing group. You can meet her in person at a book signing at the library on May 18 from 5-7 PM, and she may turn up at Monday Writers's group too, on April 27th!
She has explained how she came to be a published author in a charming article, which we have published here: http://whitesborowriterswhatnot.blogspot.com/2015/04/coming-out-of-writing-closet.html
Kat Morrisey is the pen name for an author, lawyer, and college teacher in Upstate New York, whose ‘real’ name is Kristine. (She answers to both, so feel free to use either!) She writes across genres, but writing romance (whether it be paranormal, contemporary, dystopian, sci-fi, or any other sub-genre within romance) is where she feels most at home. In 2013 she decided to finally put herself, and her writing, out for readers to find, and did so by signing her first contract. The upside: she didn’t have to pay a lawyer to negotiate her own contract. The downside: negotiating her own contract was a lot more stressful than negotiating for someone else!
In November 2014 she finally told her friends and family she wrote romance novels, and even told them her pen name. And now? Well now she can’t stop writing, learning, and writing some more; nor does she ever want to.
Kat is a Whitesboro High School graduate. After college at St. Bonaventure University she went on to Syracuse University College of Law.
