Indoor Farmers Market to Commence 2nd Season at the Whitesboro Library

Dunham Public Library recently announced that it will once again host an indoor Farmers Market on the first and third Monday of each month, from 3 to 7 PM. This year the event will begin October 19th and conclude May 16, 2016 (see dates listed below).

Library Director April Bliss has confirmed that the following vendors will offer their wares to the public on opening day:

  • Ma Ma Bella's Fine Foods - Italian pasta sauces, riggies, etc.
  • Mel's Creations - All kinds of healthful, delicious granola
  • Susan's Soft Touch - Hand crafted organic goat milk soaps, also handmade baby blankets and scarves.
  • C & F Crafts - Gift baskets, candles, silk flowers, etc.
  • MAWS Farm - Fresh produce, honey, eggs, baked goods and more.
  • Anne Marie Nandzik - will make nutritious apple soup using Maw's Farm produce.
  • Thousand Island Winery - featuring wines made from Alexandria Bay grapes.

When you're done shopping for fresh produce, crafts and other comestibles in the warm, dry community room, be sure to step inside the library proper. For your convenience, there's a new self-checkout station for library materials, and many new books, DVDs, and periodicals to entertain and educate people of all ages and inclinations. You can still check out materials the traditional way - after a few visits, the friendly staff will probably remember your face and greet you by name. Stop by the information desk for details about library-sponsored events such as the genealogy group, various film series, crafts, story time for kids, book clubs and local writing groups.

Speaking of which - if you're already looking for stocking stuffers, you'll be able to purchase copies of the brand-new very first issue  of the Whitesboro Writers Group Chapbook. This one has a western theme, six original stories written by members of the Plotters Ink fiction writing group. Your $2 donation will help support the library as well as promote local writers. Group members plan to produce a new issue on a regular basis. Stop by and chat with some of the writers featured in the book - and get your copy autographed while you're at it.

Scheduled dates: October 19, November 2 & 16, December 7 & 21, January 4 & 18, February 1 & 15, March 7 & 21, April 4 & 18, May 2 and 16. See you there!
