Wouldn’t it be fun to do a little something to celebrate Halloween in “Plotters Ink” style?

Intriguing costumes, masks, sinister tricks, innocent-looking treats, decorations that behave badly, encounters with the undead, shortcuts through the graveyard, getting trapped in the fog, weird adult parties…let your imagination run wild!

The requirements are simple. Write some original, scary or funny flash fiction – 100 to 500 words for each story, or short poems if you prefer. You can write more than one if this theme inspires you.

The news is that almost certainly we will gather enough stories to  publish an e-book on Amazon. The profits (sales less Amazon's commission)  will be split among all the authors and our wonderful library. UPDATE:  35 STORIES AND POEMS SO FAR! 20,400 WORDS. We're almost speechless....

10/9 - Our international reach continues as we add Canada to our list! In addition, we welcome John C. Mannone, a 3 time Pushcart Award nominee from Tennessee, and several more locals who contributed scary, amusing stories.

10/5- WE JUST RECEIVED A STORY  FROM DOROTHY DAVIES, ONE OF THE EDITORS AT HORRIFIED PRESS IN ENGLAND.  Who knows more about horror than a person who reads and writes it for a living? Welcome, Dorothy! We also have TWO SUPER STORIES FROM PERRY MCDAID OF IRELAND and ONE FROM SUE BABCOCK , MANAGING EDITOR OF SILVER PEN WRITERS!

10/24 - Thanks to SHERRI ELLERMAN, Flash Fiction Editor of Silver Pen for her story,  as well as those of several members of Silver Pen from all over the country and many talented locals.
If you’re interested, please note that the deadline for submissions is October 5th    (UPDATE: FINAL DEADLINE  OCTOBER 26th)…. Please allow time for editing and revision if needed. Then “my staff and I” get to compile everything for publication. As always, email your submission to whitesborowriters@gmail.com, and in the subject line write “Halloween”.

You don’t have to be a member of the Whitesboro Writers groups to participate, so feel free to share this invitation with anyone who might be interested. (And many many thanks for all of you who came from afar...)

If you’d like to propose a fabulous cover image, please email your artwork separately in a .png, .gif or other image file rather than in Word. Thanks to Ray Villafane of Carefree, AZ, who gave us permission to use one of his amazing pumpkin carvings for the front cover, and John Rudwall of Marcy, for his back cover graphic.

Artist Daniel Fuller of Canton, Il gave the nod to use some of his original artwork and photos, and to all of our writers who sent some for our use.

As always, have fun and keep writing!
