F A Q's

Are you on Facebook?
     Yes: https://www.facebook.com/your.whitesborowriters

Can I participate in this group if I  don't live in Whitesboro?
SURE! We have writers from all over this country, the UK and India.

How long should my story be?
One side of one printed page, no less than 11 point font. Some exceptions apply. If in doubt, just ask.

Is it okay to write a true story?
We are looking for original fiction for Plotters Ink, but you can base your piece upon actual events if you like. And in Monday Writers Group or Just Write!, you can certainly write non-fiction if you wish.

Can I submit a story if I don't attend the meeting?
Yes. We prefer submissions by email. Writers who do not have internet access at home may use the computers at their member library free of charge for typing and also to set up a free email account on google, yahoo, etc. Please include your full name and phone number in case we need to discuss your piece before it's published.

I don't want to email my story. Can I just submit a hard copy?
     Sorry, no.

If I attend the meeting, do I have to submit my story for publication?
Not unless you want to, but we hope you will want to!

How many stories can I submit?
How many can you write? Send 'em in!

Will you publish all submitted stories?
We hope so, but all submitted materials are subject to review. In the unlikely event we choose not to publish your story, we will confer with you about it.

Will my name appear as author?
If you like, or use an alias/pen name/pseudonym.

When will my story be published on the blog?
Usually shortly after we receive it via email. When published, you'll receive a confirmation email and a link.

If accepted, will my story be published "as is"?
Yes. Please proofread carefully, and make sure you are satisfied with your grammar, spelling and punctuation.  We do occasionally make minor edits.

Can I add a photo or cartoon to my story?
Yes, if it is relevant to the plot. Email the photo with the story as a jpeg. file and cite your source. You may need permission from the owner, so be careful if copying from the web.

After publication, who "owns" my story?
You retain all rights to your story, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee your copyrights.
